Level B: Specialist for Usability Process Management

Certification according to ISO 17024 | Non-accredited area

With the successful passing of the examination, the “Specialist for Usability Process Management” is certified that he or she masters the organization of the development process on all levels according to DIN EN ISO 9241-210 and is able to strengthen the users or user representatives in their participation in the system development. Also he or she is able to integrate all stakeholders with and without Usability Engineering competences into the Usability Engineering process or to convey the importance of Usability Engineering. Furthermore, he or she knows the risks of failures and deficits in the development process and can moderate conflicts between individual roles in the development process. He or she knows how to develop and communicate his or her work results in accordance with internationally applicable standards.

Access requirements for the examination

For certification, evidence of theoretical and practical competence in the field of Usability Engineering must be provided in advance.

The following proofs are necessary for this:

  • The certificate “Usability Engineer” of the Fraunhofer Personnel Certification Authority;

or

  • an equivalent certificate accepted by the Fraunhofer Personnel Certification Authority;

or

  • a certificate accepted by the Fraunhofer Personnel Certification Authority plus a written examination.

The Fraunhofer Personnel Certification Authority will provide a list of accepted (equivalent) certificates upon request.

Certification

The validity of the certificate as "Specialist for Usability Process Management" is limited to 3 years. Recertification is required to extend the certificate.

Registration and examination regulations

The registration for the examination includes information about yourself, the type of examination (first or re-examination) and the desired examination date as well as the agreement to the conditions of participation and the rights and obligations as a certificate holder. The conditions of participation and rights and obligations are part of the registration form. Further information can be found in the regulations.
